Malbec
Colores del Sol's Malbec vineyards, in Argentina's famous Mendoza region are among the highest elevation, sunniest and driest in the world. Our location offers a unique combination of wind, sun and irrigation from the snow-melt of the Andes, creating a vivid Malbec brimming with robust flavors of ripe red cherry, juicy blackberry, and delicate rose petals. Sweet oak and mocha, with hints of cinnamon and tobacco, round out the finish. Salud!
Tasting Notes
In the glass, Malbec is known for power and intensity. Malbec offers rich fruit similar to Cabernet Sauvignon, along with the plush character of Merlot. Colores del Sol Malbec is deep ruby in color with bright purple hues. Intense aromas of ripe blackberry and hints of spice lead into a rich, fruit-driven palate, dominated by flavors of raspberry and black cherry. The wine shows excellent balance with an opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel and fine grained tannins. Serve this wine with grilled or roasted red meat as well as with spicy tomato-based pasta dishes.
